In an illuminating radio interview by Elliott Danker on the morning of 18th August, CEO Mr Lim Boon Kwee, touched on filling the gaps in labour for the hospitality industry with SHATEC’s latest talent development programme, pivoting training needs during COVID-19 and advocating for inclusivity.
Mr Lim shared on-air, "[The programme] will primarily help with the labour shortage faced [by the hospitality industry]. After a 3-month institutional training, they begin their work-study attachment at a hotel, and are guided by a mentor at the workplace on the problems they may encounter early on in their learning & development. We are also attracting mid-career professionals who want to join the hospitality industry."
