Messages from Award Recipients:

Ali Bin Shajihan – WSQ Diploma in Food Services (Culinary Arts)
"Working with experienced chefs, I had to quickly learn the ropes and harmonise as a team. Your culinary background does not matter when it is time to perform in the kitchen.”

Ashley Kesha Dorairajoo – WSQ Diploma in Food Services (Pastry and Baking)
"In taking this leap, I found that if I put in the work and am curious to learn and grow, it will take me to places that I least expect. Now, I aspire to be a Pastry Chef in the industry, and moving forward, run a business someday!"

Chang Don Chuan Javier WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services
“After training at SHATEC, I was able to hit the ground running in my new role at Raffles. I had the edge over my peers, who were fresh graduates from other Singapore education institutions, in performing skills like turndown services."

Heng Ching Ang David – WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services
“What I have learnt here is that while digital softwares can ease certain tasks, but ultimately, the industry needs the customer skills to make a connection with our guests real.”

Lim Yong Jie Nicholas – WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services
“I believe that the keys to success in the hospitality are attitude, discipline and placing the guest or diner's health and wellbeing at the center of all your interactions."

Liu En Hong – WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services
“At SHATEC, I made new friends and gained exposure through their internship experiences too! We would share among ourselves what we’ve learnt, the mistakes we made along the way and how we rectified them.”

Noemi Pun Nyuk Yin WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services (Part-Time)
"The pandemic pushed me to pursue my studies again. I realised I needed to leave my comfort zone and learn new skills to stay competent in the current market. I told myself: If not now, then when?"

Ragini Devi D/O A Rengasamy WSQ Diploma in Hotel and Accommodation Services (Part-Time)
“In practising lifelong learning and continuous upskilling, I will continue to take on more courses to expand and sharpen my skillsets and knowledge. I’ll definitely be walking the talk to inspire my team at the hotel to progress in their learning journeys too!”
