The green transition at SHATEC is all astir! In a 1-hour programme on 18th October 2022 organised by student leaders of the Sustainability @SHATEC Committee, students and staff learnt how to cultivate microgreens in a workshop facilitated by Mr Edmund Wong of Victory Green.

On-trend, nutritiously-packed powerhouses and adorned as garnishes on restaurant plates, microgreens are easy to grow, including seed variations like mustard, coriander and basil. All participants joined the simple planting activity by adding potting soil in an open tray and spreading the seeds to start germination!

Aside from getting to taste the microgreens, they also gained insights into growing them (such as growing conditions and total time from seeding to harvest) and identifying different microgreens.
