Chef Eric can be said to have been born into the F&B business as he started helping out with his family’s catering business since he was thirteen. Convinced that cooking was his calling, he joined SHATEC in 2002 and attained the Diploma in Culinary Skills which set the stage for his future prowess in the F&B industry. Dedicated, hardworking and highly talented, Chef Eric joined his current company, Unilever Food Solutions, in 2009 as Sous Chef and worked his way up within a remarkably short time span. Presently, helming the overall culinary operations as Executive Chef, his portfolio continues to grow to extend into overseas markets.
As a member of the Singapore National Culinary Team, Chef Eric competes both locally and internationally, winning awards such as the gold medal at the MLA Blackbox Global Final at Dubai 2008, gold medal for the gourmet team challenge at HOFEX 2009 and overall champion for the restaurant of the nation category in WACS Food Fair-Korea 2012. He was also a core member of the team who returned home victorious having clinched two gold medals and crowned overall champion at the Luxembourg Culinary World Cup 2010.
Outside of his kitchen, Chef Eric is an avid reader and traveller. He researches extensively on food trends, food technologies and food sciences, with the purpose of keeping up with the latest cooking techniques and translating this knowledge into creating unique, multi-sensory dining experiences.
